Solvance 🔢☀️

A dynamic tile matching  + math puzzle game where every move changes the board. Chain numbers, solve equations, and manage the shifting geometry to clear the grid!

About the Game

Welcome to Solvance, a strategic puzzle game on a hexagonal grid. Your objective is simple: clear the entire board of numbers and operators. With every tile you remove, the board’s geometry shifts, requiring you to constantly adapt your strategy.

How to Play

To clear the board, you'll need to master these core mechanics:

  • 🔗 Chain Destruction: Trace a path of two or more adjacent hexagons with the same number (e.g., 5 → 5 → 5) to destroy them and earn points. This is your primary way to clear tiles.
  • ⚡ Operator Promotions: Use operators to create valid mathematical expressions, like 2 + 3. The final number in the expression becomes "promoted" with the calculated result.
  • 🌟 Strategic Wildcards: When a promoted tile is used in a valid chain, it provides wildcard extra steps that can be used to destroy any tile on the board—perfect for clearing tricky, isolated spots.
  • ⚠️ The Shifting Grid: Each time you clear a set of tiles, the remaining hexagons fall into new positions. This constant change means you must think ahead and manage the board's geometry to create new opportunities.

Progression & Scoring

  • 10 Stages, More Coming Soon: Play through the tutorial and 10 unique stages, each with a procedurally generated board that guarantees a fresh puzzle every time. You can also reshuffle the tiles to get brand new layouts to try.
  • Skill-Based Scoring: Every cleared tile earns you a base point. However, to maximize your score, you must use promoted tiles. A promoted tile applies a powerful score multiplier to any other tiles you clear along with it, rewarding longer and more elaborate chains.
